At Wylderwoods Lighting & Design, we believe great design is more than aesthetics—it’s about illuminating spaces that inspire connection, comfort, and purpose. Whether designing a home, a commercial space, or consulting on specialized environments like fire stations, we approach every project with a commitment to intentionality, comfort, and connection.
Our philosophy blends thoughtful space planning, human-centered design, and lighting as a foundational element to shape environments that work seamlessly for the people who use them. From our exclusive, white-glove turnkey interiors to our specialized fire hall consultations and Designer for a Day service, we tailor our expertise to meet the needs of every client.
We believe in the power of connection, designing environments that foster relationships and a sense of community. Whether residential or commercial, our spaces are crafted to encourage meaningful interactions and make people feel at ease.
Comfort is at the heart of our design philosophy. We prioritize creating environments with inviting lighting and thoughtful design, ensuring every space, whether at home or work, feels welcoming and supportive of well-being.
We design with intention, ensuring that every element, lighting, layout, and material, serves a clear purpose. Functionality is key, with solutions tailored to enhance the unique needs of each residential and commercial space.
Light transforms spaces. Our expertise lies in layering natural and curated lighting to create environments that inspire connection, focus, and comfort—whether it’s a home, workplace, or a space designed for public service.
We design spaces that are as unique as the people who use them. By uncovering the stories, needs, and values of our clients, we create lighting and interiors that feel deeply personal, purposeful, and true to their essence.
Brandi Wyldewood is the founder of Wylderwoods Lighting & Design, an interior designer with a passion for creating human-centered spaces that balance function, comfort, and beauty. Growing up in Northern BC, near the edge of the Great Bear Rainforest, she experienced firsthand how environment shapes daily life—especially through light. The long, grey winters deepened her understanding of how thoughtful design can transform a space, bringing warmth and well-being even in the darkest months.
Her design perspective broadened in 2006 while living in Japan, where she was captivated by the intentional interplay of natural light in ancient architecture. This sparked a lifelong appreciation for how space planning, materials, and lighting work together to shape mood, energy, and function.
Beyond residential and commercial design, Brandi’s commitment to community drives her work. As a volunteer firefighter on Salt Spring Island, she has firsthand insight into the challenges first responders face. This inspired her thesis project on designing fire and rescue facilities that support mental health and resilience—an expertise she continues to bring to her fire hall consultation services.
From high-end turnkey interiors to community-focused spaces, Brandi blends storytelling, innovation, and technical precision to create environments that feel both curated and deeply personal. Every project is guided by her belief that great design should inspire connection, comfort, and purpose.
